Verification
Verify before you order
A part number is not a description. The same base number under two different prefixes is two different parts - Caterpillar 8T-4160 and 6V-4160 share the base and share nothing else. Below: how seven brands build their numbers, where to check a number yourself, and the machine-number to hydraulic-model pairs we publish.
How the check works
1. Nameplate first
Machine model plus the pump or motor nameplate photo decides shaft, regulator and control variant. DT, DTP and DTH are different units on the same machine, and the part number alone will not show it.
2. Drawing position
Every line in our catalogue number lookup carries its drawing position, so you can match the number to the drawing, not only to a name.
3. Cross-check at the source
Use the manufacturer own EPC below to verify independently. We would rather you check than take our word for it.
Part number formats by brand
Readability tells you how much you can infer from the number alone. Where sectioning is not published we say so instead of guessing.
| Brand | Format | Length | What is readable | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Caterpillar | prefix-base, e.g. 8T-4160; older all-numeric 9257126 | 6-8 chars | prefix groups by family, the base number cannot be decoded | 1R-0751 filter, 8T-4160 hardware, 272-6944 hose |
| Hitachi | letter prefix + digits, or 7-digit numeric; PS suffix = Selected Parts | 5-10 | prefix groups by family | 9312918 (+PS), YT10V00002F2 pump, YB60001979 |
| Kobelco | letter prefix + class code + serial + revision | 12-14 | class code is readable (10V, 15V, 01V...) | PX15V00024F1 travel, YN10V00023F2, PX01V00052F1 boom cylinder |
| Kato | 3-digit prefix - 8 digits | 12 | prefix = assembly class, the most readable of the seven | 619-01325010 travel, 669-22600012 main valve |
| CASE / CNH | 8-digit, or J + 6, or A + 5-6 | 6-8 | prefix family (8748-...) groups roughly | 87480419 track roller, J934412, A77855 |
| SANY | all numeric, or A / B + 12-13 digits | 8-13 | sectioning not published - dual track of machine code + part code | 60053220, B230101000215, A2299000045011 |
| XCMG | 8-10 digits (805xxxxxx = standard fasteners) | 8-10 | number ranges group roughly | 803096836 pump, 804016707 swing motor, 805046667 bolt |
Check a number yourself (manufacturer EPC)
These are the official entry points we use when we verify a number. Some need a machine serial number; two brands publish nothing public.
| Brand | Official tool | Actions | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Caterpillar | parts.cat.com (SIS 2.0) | Open | Free level 1 registration: parts diagrams, numbers, Where Used reverse lookup - the best tool for finding alternatives |
| Hitachi | ConSite ISF online parts finder | Open | Search by model code, model name or part number; export and email a parts list |
| Hitachi | Hitachi Parts Online (AU / NZ) | Open | Shows discontinued items and their replacement part number |
| Hitachi | Selected Parts catalogue | Open | Official alternative-part numbering: selected number + PS suffix versus genuine number |
| Kobelco | no public EPC | Kobelco does not publish a free online parts catalogue - go through a dealer, or send us the machine model and nameplate photo | |
| Kato | no online EPC | Kato publishes technical documents and dealer lists rather than an online parts catalogue | |
| CASE / CNH | casece.com parts | Open | Parts look-up is dealer-based for most regions |
| SANY | SANY global site (parts via dealer) | Open | SANY does not publish an open parts catalogue. The China GCP portal needs a machine serial number and is not reachable outside China - send us the serial or nameplate and we confirm the drawing for you |
| XCMG | X-GSS global service system | Open | Same model: machine serial number in, official parts list out |
Links checked 2026-09-26. Caterpillar's portal blocks automated checks but opens in a browser. If a link does not open in your region, send us the machine model and the nameplate photo - we run the number through the same catalogues and send you the drawing position and part number.
Machine number to hydraulic model - the pairs we publish
A machine-maker number and the hydraulic model behind it. Use these as a starting point, then confirm the control suffix on your nameplate.
| Machine | Machine-maker number | Hydraulic model | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| SANY SY215C | 60264061 | Kawasaki K3V112DT-GB24 | Our K3V112DTP range covers this machine class - the DT / DTP suffix is what the nameplate decides |
| Doosan DX300 | K1006550C | Kawasaki K5V140DTP-9N07 | Exactly the K5V140DTP family we stock; the -9N07 control suffix must match your nameplate |
| Caterpillar E350D | 9257126 | Kawasaki K3V180DTH | Our K3V180DT range; DTH denotes the control variant |
| Kobelco SK60SR / SK70SR / SK80CS | YT10V00002F2 | Kawasaki K3SP36B | Small-class Kobelco - not the same family as the tandem pumps (send us the machine and we will confirm) |
| Hitachi SG025 / MFB45-50 swing | 4364923 / 0443500 | Toshiba SG025 / MFB45 / MFB50 | Hitachi also lists John Deere numbers M341230 / 957366 for the same unit |
| Volvo EC55 | swing: PCR-4B-20A-FP; travel: PHV-4B-70D | Nachi (also attributed to Nabtesco) | Mini-class Volvo - the smallest class where we usually quote the complete assembly |
Or just send a photo of the part or the nameplate
Pick a photo of the number stamped on the part or the nameplate, then attach it in WhatsApp - we read the number and confirm the variant.
No photo chosen yet.
Where this comes from, and what we have not confirmed
- Kobelco and Kato publish no free public parts catalogue - for those two we work from the machine model, the nameplate and dealer channels.
- SANY A / B prefix codes and XCMG number ranges are observed patterns, not published rules.
- Where a machine uses a non-Kawasaki unit (Hitachi HPV ranges, some Komatsu and Rexroth applications) the number on the pump decides, not the machine badge.
